Friends
I don't have a picture today. I don't think I even took one. So tonight I had dinner with two friends that I grew up with and have maintained a relationship with in the time after. I guess that's making the assumption that I've grown up. That's another topic for discussion. These friends are the type where it's easy to pick up where you left off with each other. You're there for one another, sometimes silently in the distance. Filling in the gaps of time between last encounters we caught up. What is it about childhood friends that you're able to maintain those friendships unlike many others? Maybe it's because those years shared are so formative in nature. You're sharing that time of trying to figure so much out for yourself. That being said, it's refreshing to know that after hanging out tonight I realized we're all still trying to figure 'it' out...whatever the fuck 'it' is. Is 'it' this ideal we have of what we want our lives to look like and strive for? I feel like 'it' may be continuously changing as we move through this life. Maybe we shouldn't be trying to figure 'it' out at all. Maybe the omni-present 'it' is right in front of us. The now. What else is there really? I digress. Thanks Lucas for the amazing filet, halibut, veggies and roasted potatoes. That's the best meal I've had in awhile...and yes I know it was just thanksgiving and I was just at grammas. Feeling grateful for the endurance of many relationships in my life.
