Feel it, make room for it, breath around it...and repeat.

Feeling anxious sucks, but that's okay. Now I'm not talking about the fleeting kind. The kind that you get before an exam, the kind you get before dropping into a demanding line, before attempting a new trick, before talking to a person who tickles your fancy...this kind is good. This kind heightens your system - heart-rate increases, respiratory rate increases, focus increases - for but a brief bit. You commit to whatever is provoking the feeling and it subsides.

I'm talking about the pervasive kind. The seemingly everlasting kind. The kind that your only reprieve at times is when you sleep. You wake up and you feel something. It's hard to explain other than this encompassing uncomfortable feeling, a running mind you can't slow down, an uncomfortable pitting hole in your chest and generalized sense of overwhelming worry. I'm continually learning to feel it all. It's a practice to welcome those unsettling feelings, make room for them, breath into and around them and let yourself be. Some times this is easier, some times this is super hard. Here's to the continued practice, especially in times of transition. The tranny seems steep right now but I'm trusting in my abilities as I've been in situations like this before...kinda haha.

It's pretty profound how getting in tune with our body can create space between our physical self and our feeling self. Today this came in the form of skateboarding for a few hours and then doing prep work in the kitchen for a few hours more. Thankful my body allows me to do all that!
